Has anyone mentioned Elizabeth Knox's book, Daylight? It's one of the best vampire books I've read, with a wonderfully frightening setting, characters I loved and a unique look at the vamp myth. It's like vampires for grownups.
On the other end of the spectrum were Vikki Pettersson's Zodiac books. The first one was a fun romp but after that I just wanted to :headdesk:.
As for Twilight, I slogged through the first one, but when I started the second I was laughing so hard by the second page (for all the wrong reasons) that I stopped reading and never went back. After loving Angel for so long, I just can't grok the Twilight luv.
