A lot of these independent, often low-budget vampire flicks have gotten made over the years. Some are actually good. Others are one-step up from soft core porn. Unfortunately, you can't always tell until you actually watch them which will be which.
One good one is
The Addiction, starring Lily Taylor. This flick treats vampirism like an addiction to any "drug." Taylor plays a grad student trying to deal with her addiction while maintaining her normal life. (Going to school, etc.)
Actually, now that I think of it, I never finished
The Addiction. I had to go out about halfway through and just never caught the rest. This has reminded me to check it out.
