Wow, I'm really, really late to this thread. I'll keep it short: Saw it, loved it. I thought it was a great adaptation of (big chunks of) A Princess of Mars, and that the judicious changes made for the format actually made it better. They even preserved an awesome moment of physical comedy Burroughs wrote into the original book, and did it justice.

I did have a list of casting demands for this movie - they didn't listen, if you can imagine - but overall I thought the actors did well. Willem Dafoe in particular was fantastic (and completely unrecognizable) as Tars Tarkas. Wonderful final moment, and making young "Ned" Burroughs an onscreen character (and Carter's nephew from the book) was a masterstroke.

Did anyone else see this in IMAX 3D?
