"Yeah, right"? Wanna bet, buddy?

Heh. If Matt thinks the draw of AtS is too strong he's sadly mistaken. Some people do stick to their guns. I said I wouldn't watch AtS anymore and I haven't (100th episode included) I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be doing the same too after this episode.

Thanks for the link, Catherine!

I wouldn't count on her coming back, unless there's a way to do it symbolically, metaphorically, spiritually, that sort of thing. And though I can empathize with those who are mourning the character, I can't imagine a better or more respectful send-off.
Huh? OK Matty how many times has Darla come back from the dead again? Let's see she's dusted on BTVS brought back as human on ATS, then killed and turned into a vamp, then written off only to come back magaically pregnant, then killed again, then brought back as an Angelic Motherly ghost. Buffy's died what 2 or 3 times now?

I do notice that he doesn't even address the comment about how bland the show has gotten.

They'll certainly take a hit, but I don't imagine the blow will be fatal. There's no question the WB core audience overlaps with the target demo that's most passionate about Idol, but the niche following for both of these WB breakthroughs is significant and loyal. If Gilmore Girls doesn't survive, I think that will be a quality call. Smallville isn't going away anytime soon
What is this guy smoking? GG has already been picked up for next season. The TV Guide reported that a week or so ago.

And the funny just continues.

I don't doubt that Matt has heard many a fan over the years threaten to stop watching a show because they are mad about something, and he knows that they do not, in large numbers, do that. Fans tend to stop watching shows because they are bored, not because they are angry. And I don't think large numbers of people will turn the show off because they killed off Cordy. However, I do think this episode reminded a lot of people of just how bored they had been with the rest of the season. And if they don't do something about that, the audience will continue to decline.
