Spoiler font?

Has something changed with the spoiler font? I'm hoping that's a yes, because otherwise I have much much more trouble with my vision than I had thought. When I try and highlight anything in spoiler font, the font and the highlight are either both too light or both too similar in color or something, and I can't read it at all. I have to hit "quote", read the spoiler, and then go back to post.

I can read it fine when I highlight it. But it does appear as a sort of light/medium green so if your monitor is really high contrast or bright, it might be difficult for you to see it. I don't remember - was the old spoiler font black when highlighted?

For me, the highlight bar is a very light blue/seafoam color and the font itself is what appears to be the exact same violet as the background. The two colors are so similar that it is illegible. I don't know about high contrast or brightness, but I am on a Mac if that makes a difference.

My highlight bar is white. The font itself appears light/med green. At least it does on my monitor at home. I just tried it at work and the highlight bar is white and the font is dark blue. LOL! So, yes, the monitor settings make a difference. But I don't know if your Mac or, perhaps, your browser makes a difference. Can you try highlighting something and then play with your monitor's color/gamma settings?

You can also set your highlight color preferences via the browser itself - if you've recently updated your browser software, maybe that threw something off. Nothing has changed with the board setup.

I'm on Firefox--do you happen to know offhand how to change the highlight color? I've looked at all the preferences, but I'm not seeing anything other than colors of links and such...

Hrm. It should be possible to change your default highlight colors through your system settings, which should work for everything. Do you have a Mac or PC?

I'm on a PC now, and the highlight font works fine on it. When I use my MacBook, I have problems. I have to admit that even after two years I haven't played around with it nearly enough, but it is a work computer and I'm really restricted as to what I have access to. I'll look tomorrow in the System Preferences, which is I assume where I can find the highlight colors...?

Fixed!! Thanks for the help, ladies. My highlight color was set to light purple, and it was virtually the exact same color as the spoiler font.

For anyone who has similar trouble, on a MacBook you have to click System Preferences in the Finder, and then look at the "Appearance" window. I set my highlight to a nice bold orange, and the spoiler font shows up perfectly now. :)
