I don't see it either, but he got a better gig anyway. The new longer (16 episodes) starts Feb 12. Here's a preview with two mysterious strangers.

I don't think it had anything to do with Being Human I think Sam Witwer was doing a favor for a friend or wanting to work with a friend, which I find cool. Apparently Darabont directed "The Mist" which Sam W co-stared in (an was actually one of the few entertaining things about the movie, IMO).

For some reason, I thought the show was coming back next Sunday, glad they're keeping it until after the Superbowl,

"There is no hope, and you know it now." Yet another trailer for the mid-season return.

Rick is still, no matter what else, a BAMF with a gun. Though pistol v. shotgun did call for some authorial intervention.

I liked it for the most part, but again, major stupidity with Lori driving into town alone. What possible reason was there for Rick to know right this very second that Shane may or may not have gotten Otis killed? What was Rick gonna do that couldn't wait a couple of hours?

Probably to much to hope she gets zombified.

Morrigan 02-14-2012 12:40 PM

I don't even think Lori was racing into tell Rick about Shane. I think she was going in to tell Rick/Glenn to get Hershel back to the farm b/c the daughter was sick.

Now why she had to go after them is beyond me. I don't understand why Otis's wife is has enough medical knowledge to draw blood and stitch up wounds couldn't take care of a girl "in shock" is beyond me.

Of course I don't know why no one pointed out that the girl probably got bit/scratched by her mother and is infected with zombieitis.

Good episode back, the funeral and scenes in the bar were the best aspects. The show did fantastic in the ratings, pulled in 8.1 million viewers, that's way above the S2 premiere ratings.

Yeah? Huh. Seemed to me like she wasn't in any hurry until she heard Dale's theory. You're probably right.

Well, no. Rick and Glenn knew about Becky; that's why they went to get Hershel in the first place. And also, didn't we just do this "separated from the pack thing" with Sophie?

Yeah, really good numbers. No doubt another season on the way, if it hasn't been reupped yet already.

Oh, right, back in January, according to the Hollywood Reporter. So there we go.

Morrigan 02-15-2012 03:40 PM

I just hope they get a bigger budget in S3 so we can get more action and zombies and less sitting around the farm talking. :D

Heh. Yeah, we can hope, but record ratings don't provide a lot of incentive to change the 'sit around the farm' formula. Well, unless it becomes 'sit around the bar'. ;)

SamIAm 03-05-2012 08:46 PM

I did not see that coming.

Belle Melange 03-05-2012 10:26 PM

Neither did I. Also, was that cow zombified?

I'm pretty sure it was just not dead yet.

Morrigan 03-07-2012 10:25 AM

Yeah, I think the cow was dying which is why it was making noise. I also think the cow's noise masked the sound of the Walker.

Really enjoyed this week's episode I'm still at a loss to figure out why Rick is the leader, other than everyone saying he's the leader. The dude keeps making dumbass mistakes, IMO. Not saying Shane would be a better leader he's too much of a hot-head/reactionary character.

I just wish they took the time to show how/why Rick emerged as leader b/c right now the only reason I can see is that pre-ZA he was a Sheriff.

I think that's pretty much the reason. He came in with all his fancy pants ideas about safety and possible cure at the CDC. Some of the people ate it up, others not so much. Everything was fine in the woodland commune until Rick's one excursion into the city brought walkers. The commune split up and Rick's been the leader ever since.
