I haven't been fangirl *squee* in awhile, and when she said she sees David almost everyday my heart was all warm and fuzzy. They way she said it was adorable. I am so totally with you there. There is no other person I can think of that makes me smile as much as CC and put as much positive energy out into the world as CC does. I was telling Nikki, on another board, everyone who has worked with her just gushes about her. And you can pretty much say anything bad about any other 'verse actor but if you say one word about CC, they will tear you a new one. And this isn't even a fandom board at all. There is something about that woman. Just a good soul I think.

And I so have a backup battery ready to go. It is a small camera too so we can hide it and be all stealthy. Plus, I have a big comfy old lady car but I am thinking we need to pool our money and rent a limo for this night!

CC is just so awesome. The day I meet her will be a milestone for me. I've liked her since Malibu Shores baby! It amazes me that I've never read or heard anything bad about her. Unless, I'm blind or something. Everyone she's worked with only have nice things to say, and fans, always have nice things to say. It just goes to show she's a good soul. And, a lot of these journalists want to see her on TV again.

I hope good things come out of this reunion for her. She went/or is still going through a divorce. She went through a dry spell with the strike. CC's gotta get something good out of this. I'm hoping we see her on TV this Fall.

That's a start! Really though, why can't she? I think it's two things, both having to do with your first two observations:

1.) I know she wants to do comedy, and women of "her age" on TV are usually cast as moms in sit-coms.

2.) She's way too hot and sexy to be a sit-com mom.


Too bad she didn't get a part in that new Brooke Shields show. What's it called "Lipstick Jungle?" I haven't seen it, but it looks very "Sex in the City" - ish from the commercials. She could have rocked one of those roles.

That's actually a major trend in Hollywood comdies, I remember seeing something about it on TV once, you have hot wives with ugly/fat men. I guess it's supposed to be the ultimate fanboy experience. They did it on at least 3 sit-coms that I can recall, According to Jim, King of Queens and Still Standing... I guess Grounded For Life could also count but I never found the hotness factor to be that far off between the mom/dad.

You know, I have to admit all these pics of the cast together, smiling and laughing, make me just a little bit sad. I miss the days when I loved these shows and loved having these people in my living room once a week during the television season. I don't think I've felt as strongly about a tv show since these shows and DC went off the air.

(And if I think about it long enough, I'll remember why I generally think it's a good thing I haven't been so heavily involved in fandom since. So I'm going to just stick to feeling nostalgic and not think too much about it.)

Nikki and I were just talking about this the other day. I don't know how good her management team is but you would think they would be out there, getting her more stuff. It is clear that whatever show she is on, it boosts the ratings for her episodes. There is something about her.

Hopefully if Titus gets his own show on FX, he might have a part for her there. I would love to see her on FX. It has a lot more edge to it, even with the comedy.

I think the biggest problem is like she said, there aren't a whole lot of scripted comedies out there. But it sounded like she was shooting some pilots so that is a plus. We can only hope one of them gets picked up.

I also think one of the biggest obstacles for CC to find any decent roles is the fact that she has to compete with actresses that are more high profile than her. Shows like Lipstick Jungle, Samantha Who, and Desperate Housewives and even Private Practice tell us that there ARE excellent role out there for women over 30. The problem is that these roles inherently go to former movie actresses that are venturing into TV (ie. Patricia Arquette, Minnie Driver) or actresses with a hit TV show under their belt returning to TV (Christina Applegate, Brooke Shields).

So even though there is a role out there that are tailor made for CC, it might still go to someone else because a former A-list star ultimately has higher visibility to lure the general public. And if that someone is Glenn Close or Courtney Cox...well, at least these women can act. But when it is someone the likes of Shannon Elizabeth and Denise Richards? Ugh.
