It says "effective immediately", does that mean no CC this Thursday!?!? Oh, I'm so mad

Matt Webb Mitovich, one of CC's biggest boosters, is not pleased:

TV Guide: Big Shots Neutered in Favor of Warmed-Over Privates (http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Big-Shots-Neutered/800029173)

ETA: Meanwhile, however, ABC is still running a teaser video of Charisma's appearance (http://abc.go.com/video/index?playlist=22196&clip=71690). Get it while you can.

What. The. Hell.

Should we start emailing them? Calling? Maybe if enough people say HEY! we'd rather watch this AND the commercials instead of reruns, they might put it back on? (Even if there are only 13 of us).

With so many networks struggling, a little bit of force might be enough.

ETA: Looks like around the net a couple of boards and forums to Big Shots are doing a call in campaign. If anyone is interested.

This really frustrates me. Ugh! Just when Charisma was coming! Couldn't they have waited? Geesh!

Well, at least she has some things coming up in 2008. But, I still would have liked to see her episode(s):bitter:

Don't be surprised if ABC burns these off as online viewing or downloads. In fact, since nonpayment of writers for Internet usage is one of the WGA's central strike issues, the network may have seen an opportunity for a final in-your-face to the union in a show they probably were going to cancel anyway.

Oh, for crap sake.

ETA:
According to the Futon Critic

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=7517

All 13 episodes have been filmed, and there are 5 yet to be broadcast.

At least CC will be paid for her work, however many episodes she is in.

*sigh* does CC *ever* get a freakin break?!! At least it's the end of the year..I say 2008 is gonna be Charisma's year. ;)

ETA: gah! watching that video makes me want to see the ep all the more. anyhu, thanks for the link penny.

It doesn't say "cancelled" just pulled. They could be saving them for February sweeps like they're saving "Bones" last few new episodes for next year. In any case, I'm really pissed we're not seeing CC this week. I've sat through this show all season so far to get to this point and now I get nothing for it. Bummer.

Some of us have been dying -- dying, I tell you! -- to see CC and Titus together. And she got all the funny lines, too.

Well, then, let's hope this writer's strike last, eh?

Four months down the line and the networks are desperate for new programming, they'll perhaps start showing the missing episodes of all the TV series they've cancelled/pulled over the years.

I suspect we may see a few revivals if the strike does go on.

Oh man, that looked really good too. I sure hope the phone in campaign works I really want to see CC/Titus on screen together, that 1 minute clip rocked.

Can anyone cap that wonderful video clip, just in case ABC is a real dick and pull it completely?

I have captured the flash video, but for some reason I can't convert it to avi or mpeg using my normal software. However, I am able to make caps. I'll post them soon.

If anyone wants to try converting it for me (us), I can send you the file.

ETA: I put the caps on my LJ because I didn't want to make 11 posts with 3 pictures each.

According to Access Hollywood (http://www.accesshollywood.com/news/ah7752.shtml), ABC plans to air at least two new episodes in January. This still will leave three episodes already shot and as yet unaired, but who knows what happens next.

Awesome screencaps, Deb -- thanks!

I was gone complain about waiting that long--again to CC, but I'm glad they're at least gonna show it. Besides Charisma is worth the wait. :)

thanks for the link Penn and the caps Deb. ;)

Given the strike, I can't really see any network permanently witholding produced episodes. More likely, they are holding them for the best opportunity next year. Still frustrating, though.

Thanks for the caps, 'Skippy. I've always been a big fan of her with lighter hair, so she looks especially pretty to me! Too bad about the show, but hopefully everyone who thinks it'll be back early next year are right.

From The Progrannibg Insider

From Nov 29th

A repeat of CBS’ Without a Trace was first in total viewers (9.86 million) and second among adults 18-49 (2.5/ 7) at 10 p.m. Just the opposite was NBC’s fading ER, at 8.62 million viewers (#2) and a first-place 3.4/ 9 in the demo. While ER did build from lead-in Scrubs, compared to one year earlier (Viewers: 13.36 million; A18-49: 5.8/15) that was a loss of 4.74 million viewers and 41 percent among adults 18-49. Last, and very least, was ABC’s Big Shots, at a not so big 5.98 million viewers and a 2.4/ 6 in the demo.

From last night.

Without a Trace kept CBS’ large dominance alive at 10 p.m., with a healthy 15.13 million viewers and a 4.0/12 among adults 18-49. Second was the 10-11 p.m. portion of NBC’s Saturday Night Live Christmas encore (Viewers: 5.82 million; A18-49: 2.7/ 8), followed by a repeat of ABC’s Private Practice (Viewers: 4.75 million; A18-49: 1.7/ 5). Overall, Saturday Night Live Christmas averaged 5.72 million viewers and a 2.7/ 8 among adults 18-49 from 9:30-11 p.m.

Hmmm. Reruns of Private Practice got 1.23 million less viewers than Big shots.
Hey ABC... Didn't work did it. You should have left it alone.

According to The Futon Critic, via an ABC press release,
Big Shots will return in it's regular time slot Jan 10th.

here (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20071214abc01)

No program listings yet. Hopefully CC's episode will be the first one up.

ETA:
I guess they're just going to air the 3 shows. Eli Stone takes over the slot Jan 31st.
I notice Private Practice is NOT on the schedule. Cavemen is gone too (Yay)

The Better Man

Duncan turns his attention to business and stealing a rising supermodel from a rival cosmetics company. Charisma Carpenter guest stars.

Going to check the listings but that is a Very weird time slot.

Update: The tvguide web listings have it on Thursday the 10th at 9pm central time.

Its now 1115pm central time and Chris Titus from Big Shots is going to be the next guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. No idea if they will show a clip of Big Shots, but if they do CC's ep is up next.

So what did Titus have to say? Anyone stay up to watch him?

Livvie
01-08-2008, 11:14 AM
I have the episode but I haven't watched it yet. I'll probably watch it a little later this morning and if CC gets a mention, I will put it someplace so everyone can see it.

ETA: I watched it and he said almost NOTHING about Big Shots. He is doing some comedy tour and has a new comedy album out. That is what he was plugging. He spent 10 minutes talking about his divorce and new girlfriend, basically giving a taste of his stand up probably. The last minute or two minutes, he finally talked about Big Shots and all he talked about was Dylan McDermontt.

If anyone is interested (I know we have Titus fans) I will still edit it to just his clip and upload it someplace.
