Hey all...
I haven't posted in what literally seems like forever-and-a-day, but have still kept lurking as I have always been and will always be a CC fan.
Unfortunately I stumbled across this on the usa today website tonite...(Penny...if this is inappropriate, please "poof"...)

Wow. So sad to see this happen to any couple, whether famous or not. Hope all goes as well as it can for them both and that their son is loved enough by the two of them to get through it.

Sorry if this sounds cold but I'm rather jaded on hollywood marriages.

I guess I'm not jaded enough, 'cause I think it's sad, especially for Donovan's sake. Hopefully they'll both move forward in a positive way.

That's so strange...I was just thinking yesterday that I thought it was kind of cool that they'd made it this far. That's too bad.

I'm with you, Morrigan. In an industry where a 5 year marriage is hailed as being a long term success, it's not all that surprising.
Too bad though. I wish them well.

I noticed she did not seem to be wearing a wedding ring at that last convention she attended - but I did not want to speculate. (Julie Benz also seems to have stopped wearing a wedding ring).:(

Oh man... I really was hoping they would go for the distance... :bitter:
I wonder if it is the standard irreconcilable differences or something more sinister...
Anyway I'll pray for all three of them...

This sucks for Charisma.
and even potential Julie Benz as well.
If David Boreanaz is next with his beautiful wife Jaime I will be extremely pissed off. :poed:
Always sad news to hear especially when there is a young child involved.
I wouldnt have thought that they would be considered a Hollywood marriage though, I didnt think Damian was in the business.

The way Hollywood looks at marriages, makes breakups no surprise at all..but this still saddens me. I really thought they were gonna make it. Anyways, I hope everything works out for the three of them, particularily Donovan.

Which would be nice, especially with a kid involved. Now a days its too easy to through in the towel then try and work it out.
I just read this new on another site, I'm surprised and saddened to hear this. :(

I could see this coming. I've seen it coming since her Playboy shoot. No man wants every geek, nerd, jock etc in the world jacking off to his wife's naked body. I am a firm believer that the only people who should see our naked bodies are our partners and doctors. And, she has been a little different with her character choices as well. In FWD, she was doing nothing but getting her kit off. Same in VM and probably going to be the same in BS. If I was her husband, the very thought of her doing those scenes would annoy me no end. Fair enough its her job but it seems to be every week with her now. Its like she's finally clocked on to the fact that she's beautiful and using it to get herself a job. She doesn't need to. She's talented enough without baring all for the cameras.
But hey, that's my opinion. I wish them well and hope they either sort it out or be happy as single parents.

I am saddened by the news, but I can't say I'm all that surprised. Not because I think either of them are at fault but the sad fact is, marriages end sometimes, and I don't doubt that both parties thought long and hard about this before making the decision. CC and Damien both love Donovan and I'm sure they are doing what's best for all involved. And who knows, they've been so off and on through the years, and the press is calling it a 'separation' not a divorce, they may work things out yet.
But even if they didn't, CC will have her pick of men lining up to treat her like the Queen she is, and they will be as proud as I'm sure Damien is, to be with an intelligent, bright, funny woman who has the supreme self confidence to pose in Playboy - and who, along with Kyra Sedgewick, Holly Hunter, Mariska Hargitay and other women over the age of thirty, is playing sexually confident women instead of either buttoned up sexless lawyers or total whores.
Real men aren't threatened by a woman with the total package, thank goodness. I am *so* curious to see who would call her if she does get divorced.
And if she gets back together with Damien, I'll toast that too. :blah:

I'm such of fan of hers, that I hope she gets what ever her lil ol heart desires.
I wish Damien happiness as well.
Donovan will just grow and thrive in all that happiness. :)
That´s really sad, they always looked happy together.:hmm: I´m also sorry for Donovan, but I´m sure they still love him both.

as was pointed out earlier, they have been together since btvs, that means during all of those photoshoots she did for men's mags, wearing practically nothing, he was there. she is a gorgeous woman, if she finally feels confident enough , esp after s4 of ats to show off what God gave good for her. plus it has been 3yrs since playboy, 1-2 yrs since vm, however long since fwd, don't think he was embarassed

You know I <3 you. That sentence is so so right. Real men aren't threatened by that :D Well, it's really bad timing for that someone to call, but yes, I'd like to see who will be ringing her up.

I agree. Her Playboy shoot was done, tastefully. My boyfriend owns that issue and I still look at it from time to time, with him. I told him if I were to do Playboy, I'd do it like she did. She showed no lower private parts, and only showed the boobs and one shot of the butt. Besides, Damian was at the shoot with her. It was done, tastefully, imo. He knew back then, what he was getting into. It's not her fault that she's amazingly beautiful.

It is always saddening when something intended to last doesn't but I don't necessarily see it as a failure. For all we know this is the best thing they could do, for them and for the happiness and well-being of their son and that is all that matters. Donovan will remain happy and loved as ever so long as both parents stay involved, its just a different way to live. He isn't losing his parents after all - they just may no longer love each other (at least like that). Charisma has never shown herself to be anything but level-headed and full of discretion, even when she didn't have to be. There is no reason to believe she'd drop the ball when it comes to the well-being of her son. Heck, I'd be more concerned were her son to grow up under the authority of a man with a view on women that jean-vic suggested (not that there is anyting to suggest a spec of that is accurate of Damien).
Hope I don't get the thread closed with the above, I just think its important to remember that all types of families can be loving and sometimes splitting is just the best way to go. :) Godspeed to them all, whatever happens.

Oh here we go. I'm ONE of those men am I. Believe me dearies, I am all for equality. I believe that women should be up there with men. I believe that they deserve and work just as much as men and should be given their due. I don't however believe that married couples should share outside, whether it be the man or woman. When you make those vows you should stop all that, IMO. LIke sex. We have sex with different people through our lives but when we marry we stop and keep it in the marriage. I believe its the same with showing your body for men and women. How would you like it if your husband did a shoot for Playgirl and you knew people like your sister, your best friend were looking at him and admiring what he's got. Not to mention what's gonna happen if her son ever finds it.
It's sad that its happened. But my parents divorced when I was 11, and it was the right thing to do for both of them and for my sister and I. So if I could send Donovan a message it would be that its better to be raised by two happy parents who are no longer together, than two bitter, argumentative parents who can't stad the sight of each other.
I suggest that we don't speculate as to why their marriage has split up. I'm sure this time will be difficult enough for Charisma, Damian and Donovan with out her 'fans' assigning blame onto issues that may not even figure into the equation and dragging up more hurt for them. We can leave that sort of thing to Perez Hilton and his ilk.
Let's just let them know that we support them and hope that they're happy in what they're doing.

Who?
Who?
He's a vile Hollywood 'reporter'. He'll pick up on a rumour about a star in Hollywood and just won't let it go. He seems to take pleasure in stars misfortune and thinks its his duty to 'out' any actor or actress he wishes, often taking it to the level of a campaign - whether or not they're even gay.
CC is possibly not A-list enough for him, but it's the sort of thing he would pick up on, claiming to have inside knowledge that Damian was in fact a woman and that CC had been using him/her to cover up her relationship with Fidel Castro. Or something as ridiculous.

I'm always saddened to hear of a loving relationship ending. It's never easy for any one involved, regardless of the situation. My bro and sis-in-law spent a few years on the brink of divorce and those were hard times for them and their kids. But their time apart gave them a chance to grow and reconnect and they managed to pull a true marriage out of it. I really hope CC and her hubby are able to do the same. At the very least, I hope the separation allows them whatever they both need to be happy, whether it's together or apart.

Wow, this even brought Shalazar out of hiding. He says there's no real confirmation, but he's going to look into it.
The way Shalazar wrote his post, he's not familiar with that representative, Jeff Raymond.
All the blogs DO only quote the one source, (People).
I haven't seen any other articles about it, but it did make Zap2it, and even
The Himalayan Times.
But you would think that if it wasn't true, there would be some denials by now.
By the way, Shalazar must have fixed his site. It's loading about 10 times faster now

I was thinking of the part where it says they were already living separately. There was an interview I recall with CC when she was shooting Veronica Mars. She was taking the interview on the phone and when asked about travel time to the location she said "I just called and asked my husband if I could have my son for one more day."
I dont recall the exact wording of it, but that could mean they were separated then. Because I am a guy who grew up going to one parents place or the other a lot.

This is somewhat disappointing, but not really surprising. Celebrities almost never stay married, and couples where the woman is the bigger star (or in this case, the only star) tend to fare especially badly. Hopefully it will work out for the best for everyone in the long run.

'Hollywood' just has to be the nastiest climate for relationships/ marriages. But it can be done. I have two names for you -- Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. 50 years in 2008.

I'd like to go back and agree with what someone else (PC?) wrote... CC and D have a history of being together, breaking up, getting back together, etc. It's her personal life, and not for our eyes no matter how giving to her fans she is. But... even from something so personal, there does seem to have been that pattern obvious to us on the outside.
So I'll just hope for her that this is just a bump in the road and that everything will turn itself to rights. My personal version of "to rights" is to stay married, but as others have said... it doesn't work like that for everyone.
You know, celebrity is a really weird thing. I have a friend who is a musician in a band that is very well-known in Australia and New Zealand. I started life as just a fan, and have since become a personal friend. We're on rocky ground lately, or it feels so to me, and whatever personal problems I have with him are exactly that. Personal problems. I wouldn't post about them on his band's web forums since those are supposed to be about his professional work. I couldn't stand for anyone to disrespect what he does musically since he's absolutely amazing. One person, yes, but separate realms of conduct.
So, yes, this was a tangental rant, but being that I'm struggling with something that is deeply important to me that involves the difference between professional and private lives, I just feel more for Charisma's situation. Shortly put, there's stuff we don't know and for the most part are better off not knowing, either.
And that FWD that was mentioned... uh... "Flirting with Disaster"?

Marriages are complicated, and even the best of them can end in divorce. Mine was excellent, and it ended up that way. I’m glad it did; my ex and I are best friends who still are there to offer advice to one another, and there to call bullshit when needed. But when we were married, we each felt like we were slowly dying and our fear was that we would end up resenting each other for that. Sometimes you need to end something to save something more important. This could be one of those times.
We all say that it’s ‘Hollywood’ and she’s a ‘Celebrity’ but look around at all the divorced people we know in our personal lives. It happens all the time, it just doesn’t end up in People or chatted about in the chatty rooms on the internet.

I'm not a lawyer, but I know several people who have gotten divorced, and protecting your assets is part of the process. When someone is trying to beat the pre-nup, you don't just defend, you attack. Seems like standard operating procedure under the circumstances, but I reserve the right to be wrong.
Actually, this has been a pretty darn good quarter for CC, work-wise. New roles on three different shows, two of which are confirmed recurring (Greek and Big Shots). The WGA strike and possible SAG action next June do underline the intrinsic uncertainty of the industry, though, and that's a truism you can take to court.

Unfortunate, but true. Assets, for sure (house, cars) but nobody's liquid. Because she's in that 'working, but not attached' segment of the SAG, her story gets featured as 'how the writers strike is hurting working Hollywood'. I'm sure there are some behind-the-camera types - wardrobe people, some gaffers, some PA's, hairdressers and makeup artists - in the same boat.

Same. I think this is temporary (even if it's going to be a long temporary). CC must love...who's she married to? (so obvious I don't watch talk shows/read interviews). She mentioned her two boys were her world when she got that D squared tattoo, right?
I don't know, but something tells me they'll get back together. If it really is a romance gone sour, I don't think it was on CC's part.

I agree with you, somewhat, what's right for us might not be what's right for CC/D.
Also, I find it amusing that you call CC a "celebrity." I guess I classify the term to tightly, since when I think of celebrity, I think limelight, I think A-List, I think...Paris Hilton. I honestly don't feel CC's popular enough to be a celebrity (in my mind). It seems to me that like Holly, she keeps her outside of work life pretty private (but again, I don't watch TV much anymore. In fact, the only TV I watch these days are mostly GG, AtS and S1 of Dark Angel).
