View Full Version : How Much are You Still Invested?

I'm curious as to how invested people still are in the whole BTVS/Angel "thang". I myself don't feel that I'm invested at all, but some obviously still are, given the continued posting in the Cordyverse forum and the constant items in TV Guide about a possible Spike TV movie.
So, I thought I'd do a poll.

I went with "Somewhat". I'd still have an interest in watching/reading any future projects in that universe, but I don't really think about it much.

A little more than "somewhat" for me. I read fic everyday, it's what I do instead of watching TV. I own the first two seasons of Angel on DVD and have plans to buy the 3rd, but it's not a burning need. I write the occasional fic. I don't have plans to watch the Spike movie, or any other Buffyverse saga, because I've lost my faith in Joss's intentions. The only thing I want to see, whether in comic book form or some other medium, is the resurrection of Cordelia, and C/A happening the way it was going in early S3. But I really think it's a dead issue with ME, so I don't spend my time trying to campaign for it. I'd rather follow CC and DB to their next shows and root for their success there. So yah, 'somewhat'.

I picked "Actively Uninterested".
It's really hard to muster any sort of feelings on the topic anymore. I confess that I've already moved on to my Next. Big. Fandom. that's keeping me busy. It's also seemingly blessedly shipper (ew!) transcendent nutbar free.
Either that or they really hide it better.

I picked actively uninterested also, even though it seems oxymoronic. But even if the universe was revisited in some form, and if I decided to watch, I don't think I'd ever get as invested again as I was in Buffy and Angel.

I'd say "Actively Uninterested" as well, which seems odd since I am still here. However, I don't watch or care about it anymore. When friends bring up Buffy or Angel to me, I tend to tune out and not really hold an opinion.
I still talk to fandom people though, follow Charisma's career and come here though. So maybe I'm more indifferent but still in fandom which sounds odd, but hey!
I picked Eh.
I'll watch an ep if I catch it (unless it features Connor), and I'll check FFnet to see if one of the few decent ficcers has a new fic, but that's about it.
I've pretty much said everything I have to say about CC/BTVS/ATS, so thats all folks.

Well, I am still totally invested in AtS .. never was as much into BtVS. I own all the DVDs and am on the 8th re-run now lol. Fanfic is a must on a daily basis and I seldom end the day without watching one or two fanvids lol. Still into discussions on various boards and make a lot of fanart. Uhm pretty obsessed lol. But then I came to the Angel fandom way later than a lot of you all, only discovered it about a year ago. Though I am interested in some other shows as well, Angel still is my priority .. I doubt that I will ever become as obsessed with any other show. :)
I have to admit the only thing that really bothers me are the occasional *Joss will continue the Buffyverse* rumours. I feel kinda nauseous when I read articles like that cause I am uttely convinced he will manage to completely destroy everything that is left of Angel as it was after S5. So I wish his other projects are huge successes and he leaves Angel alone. Good thing though that DB seem to be very uninterested in ever playing Angel again!

I'm totally invested in C/A fanfic-esp reading it.
But I haven't watched reruns in the past year or longer - not really a TV buff anyhoo (scuse the untintended pun ;)) and haven't got into any other shows due to that, since AtS 3. I don't avidly follow anything outside the fic/art arena, AtS or otherwise, so none of the above votes suits me really, except partially #1.

I picked "eh", although now that I'm reading, it may not be the right choice. I watch certain eps if they're on, but I haven't watched my DVDs in ages. However, I do follow the actor's careers and will watch if they're on tv.

I went with 'actively uninterested'. I still read C/A fic, but that's it.

Hi, I chose Rabidly, while I am more in the Vested league. I came across Cordy/Angel fanfiction at the beginning of this year. So, talking about late. I have all season of Angel, and followed Angel from BTVS. I read fanfiction daily. I love it. There is no one on TV now that has captured and held my attention, since Angel/Cordy. Had somewhat interest in Veronica/Logan, until this season opener. Also like Jason and Sam, from General Hospital, but they coudn't knock the love I have for Angel/Cordy. So, I thank God for the fanfiction writers.

I consider myself still interested. When I take an active interest in characters for eight years it is hard to just quit cold turkey. I am pissed at TNT and FX because they pushed the reruns of Angel and Buffy back to 6am my time, and I just don't want to get up that early. I still take an interest in the actors, and when I hear about them in a TV or movie project, I do my best to check it out.

Hardly at all it is just to depressing to see what happend to Angel the show and the character although I do have a fan fic in my mind that I think of every so often that involves Angel beating the crap out of that slut Buffy and degranding her while he is doing it.

I went with #1. Though, I would say it's a mixture of rabidly and somewhat invested, that being I live on C/A fic and I used to catch the occasional re-runs on Fox.

I went with somewhat invested, but I'm a little bit of #1 too. I read C/A fanfictions on a daily basis, I watch my DVDs, but I don't want to see an Angel (or Spike) movie. I'm sure Joss would screw it up :bored:
I don't think I'll love any other show as much as I loved ATS (except maybe Bones, I'm really into it.)

How do you "degrand" somebody? Do you just keep telling them over and over that you're not all that, so stop thinking you're grander than the rest of us?
I chose Actively Uninterested, because for the most part I am. If one of the good fic writers has a new story out, I'll read it for sure, but that's about it. I own nearly all of the BtVS/Ats DVD's and I'd say at least 5 of them haven't even had the plastic peeled off. I don't watch the repeats on TNT or FX, nor do I watch Veronica Mars, Bones, How I met Your Mother or Kitchen Confidential.
So why am I still here? I like to stop by and talk to my friends and see all of the new pretty whenever pictures are posted.

I picked 'somewhat invested'. I was almost cold turkey all summer tho not actually by choice. I still watch the reruns but not every episode (watching 'She' once was enough!) and they are on at weird times over here just now, well Ats is anyways and aren't in sequence. Birthday was on last week and then Angel disappeared off the schedule again. I occasionally read fanfic and I suppose am looking forward to the prosepect of getting my box-sets back when I go home for the holidays. So yeah somewhat invested. But then my friend Claire can still get a rise out of me by dissing C/A. Hmm have to work on that one....... :foot:

I'm mostly 'somewhat invested.' I checked out a couple Angel books from the library because I felt like I needed to look for C/A subtext. I missed it. :(

I chose lamenting, though I'm heading down fast. I don't watch any of the episodes. haven't done for about six months, now. And it's mainly because, I am bitter about the endings. It's coloured my view of the whole CordyVerse, and I just don't to see it any more.
Which is sad.

For a long time I was bitterly lamenting....but now I'll put in the DVD once in a while and just pretend the show stopped at season 3. Denial seems to work for me.

I chose 'Somewhat invested'.
I was really getting tired of Angel at one moment, but now I am back into the fandom. I'm writing fic again (or attempting to) and I'm reading some occasionally.
When I'm bored I watch my DVDs, but not much. And I don't think I'm going to buy the season 5 set. I've got my eyes on the Dead Like Me and the Lost-boxes. Both funnier and more interesting than season 5.

I'm sort of between Eh and Somewhat invested, heavy on the Eh. I'll watch a rerun if I see a good episode, and read a fic if I'm in the mood and I trust the author (I'm a bit of a fic snob). But other than that, I don't see myself as an active part of the fandom anymore.
I'll watch one of the actor's shows if I come across it, but I don't actively follow their careers, anymore. I've sort of moved on, really. I still post here because I like the people and I love the conversation.
I don't know if I'll ever obsess over another show/fandom like I did this one, though. I like L&O, love HP and adore Lost, but I don't see myself jumping into the waters anymore than reading an occassional fic.
ETA: Hardly at all it is just to depressing to see what happend to Angel the show and the character although I do have a fan fic in my mind that I think of every so often that involves Angel beating the crap out of that slut Buffy and degranding her while he is doing it.
...
I've not the words.
Between the first two.
I don't particularly expect something great coming now but if it does happen, I'll check anything with an ATS tone. I'm not into BTVS really so if a Spike movie comes and it's post ATS with ATS folks, I'll probably check it out.
I don't particularly go into fights about ships but I still read a lot of fan-fics, no matter the author in the C/A realm.
I don't watch re-runs but when the need arise I pop one of the dvd (have them all) and watch the whole disc in one setting.

I find it ironic that "actively uninterested" is on the list, ya know, cos if one is totally uninterested wouldn't they like, not be at internet boards? I figure anyone who goes to an internet board must have some level of interest...
I chose "somewhat interested." I'm a bit of a newcomer to the AtS fandom, after being a longtime BtVS fan. That's probably the main reason I'm invested as I am. I've kinda dropped out of the BtVS fandom, although I do read fics and watch DVDs from time to time. I just haven't found any new fandoms that captured me the way AtS/BtVS has, except for Firefly/Serenity, and since it's still Joss, I don't really consider it a totally separate fandom. There really isn't that much good FF/Serenity fic and stuff out there (at least, nothing I'm interested in) so AtS is still pretty much my "fallback" fandom when I'm bored and want some good fic to read.

Not necessarily. I don't see myself as Interested, per se, but I still come here for the conversation and people. Some of the members here are really great friends of mine, now, and I can't imagine not talking to them just because the series is over.

Guess the right way to put it would be that I'm more interested in what some of the former cast are doing now. These two shows have pretty much come and gone. I rarely watch reruns, usually I can't because of my work schedule. Suppose that theres nothing that can be said about the episodes that hasn't been said before.
