Hey guys,
According to this interview with Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, Charisma might be brought into VM in some capacity. Yaaay. I had no idea she was Rob's wife to be's friend.
Here's the link, there may be spoilers for VM watchers.

Well that will get me to watch VM regularly. It's a shame really, I keep saying I want to watch it and I even follow the VM thread in the TV Section but I never remember to sit down and watch. (other than the 1 ep I flipped back and forth with to see Aly...almost forgot about that) :(

On a side note, everytime I read the Producer's name I always think of the singer.

ETA: Thanks for bringing this over.

Cool. Not as cool as "CC to star in...", but cool.

That would be fantastic for a short run. I love VM so this is icing on the cake. But I can still hope for her own series can't I?

I think she'd be fantastic on that show, even if it was just for a few episodes. I think she'd fit right into the California atmosphere and her comic timing would really work on that show. I think she'd be a much better fit than Aly was.

*fingers crossed*

This would be lovely if it happened, and might be all I need to cinch the deal to keep watching. I'm on the fence, but Charisma would send me rocketing back.

I want CC back on my TV.

Good for CC!!!

But also, I found something really bad about this: I don't know what's the deadline to make pilots or to cast people for pilots because I read some networks will announce their schedule but still there are pilots without any cast mentioned. But this guy talks about AH and her pilot and how, if it's picked up, they couldn't used her anymore..... But talking about CC he says he's waiting to the right moment to trow CC on the show.... so, he knows she doesn't have any pilot or project or even in talks for anything so she's available.

Great news - hope we get to see her on the small screen again soon!

Oooo nice. I haven't watched VM, but from what I've heard it's an awesome show. CC being part of it only makes it all the more sweet. :)

Thanks for bringing this over Marcy.

It's nice to hear that Rob is thinking of Charisma, but I'll wait for something more concrete before I get all excited - plans like these have a way of not working out, in spite of the best intentions of all parties.

Still, cool to see that CC is a fan of the show!

Sounds like its a guest slot like Aly's was. Nice show to work on, but VM is on UPN with not so great ratings (sadly). I guess on the guest spot richter scale this won't even register as high as Charmed (though I know VM is the better show - but Charmed has more viewers and on a larger network).

And yeah, the talk sounds tentative for AH if she has a pilot, so surely the same would be true for CC? Really, she needs to get on Fox or the big 3 to make any real impression.

I think this is great news. Veronica Mars has an incredibly high critical profile in the U.S. entertainment media, UPN show or otherwise. A guest appearance -- or a string of them -- would get CC seen by many of the Right People. Even the mention of her name in connection with the show will have much of that effect. Huzzah!

(Aside: Guys, what if, y'know, CC doesn't want a full-time series right now? She does have a son who just entered the stage known as the Terrible Twos. If she wanted more time to spend with him, and stuck to guest appearances because of it, would that be so bad?)

I think that's exactly right - right now, we don't know what CC's career aspirations are, or even whether or not she's actively pursuing anything. It seems to me that last year she was on a bit of a mission to take on a bunch of diverse roles in part, no doubt, to dispel any industry rumours about her being out of shape or unwilling to work (the latter of which may have been started because of the way her leaving AtS was handled, but I won't even go there now.) Having done that, and maybe proven something to herself as much as to the industry, she may just want to take another year to lay low until her son is a bit older.

We may get a clearer picture when she appears in the UK at that upcoming convention - I'm sure that somebody in the audience is going to ask her what her upcoming plans are, and I'm counting on the Strangers in attendance to give us the full scoop!

ETA: Hey Penny, do you think we have enough time between now and CC's London con appearance at the end of June to organize something? Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of some sort of board charity drive where we raise funds to make a donation in CC's name, and then have one of the London con-goers present her with a certificate to that effect?

No. But news of sporadic guest appearences is not as cool as news of "CC is set to star in...".

Since the info is on-line, on Rob Thomas' own site (http://www.robthomasproductions.com/), in fact, I feel this doesn't violate any ban on personal info discussions.

Which is all just to say that Rob Thomas' fiancee is a bookstore manager named Katie Orr, with whom he has one child, a daughter, born last March 25.

Hee! I wonder if his daughter and CC's son attend the same Gymboree classes. :)

And hey, this might be the excuse I need to start watching VM. My entire family watches it anyway, so I might as well, especially if Charisma is going to be on it. :)

Sounds like a plan -- do we want to turn the tsunami-relief benefit to that end?

I need to get some sleep. My first thought reading that was "Holy crap, Rob Thomas has a show?" Then I realized it wasn't that Rob Thomas.

Count me in with those who've wanted to watch VM but never got the chance. I heard it was a great show, and CC being on might push me to actually sit down and watch it.

This is great news and I hope it pans out. VM is only one of four shows that I actually watch every week (and the only one I watch without fail). The show is smart, sassy, funny, and surprisingly insightful. CC also happens to be all those things (although that's no surprise) so the two would make a great fit.

Works for me. I think this will/should be one of those gesture things where it will be the thought that counts as opposed to the specific charity of the amount raised. I just think it would be nice if one of the Strangers could present CC with something in London that lets her know we're still supporting her in our own "Stranger" way. :)

I'm so glad people might start watching Veronica Mars :) It really is such a good show, one of the best I've ever seen.

Ditto what argel said except the part about my family. Having CC on would be enough to get me to watch the show no matter the duration of her stint. In fact, I might even be interested enough to try and catch up with summer reruns so I won't go in completely cold. Good news for all!

And I think a charity or benefit drive of some sort is a great idea. :)

He is feeling fine now, still pretty happy about the season finale (another busy episode, but one that actually exceeded my expectations and can I say just one more time, 'Who's your (VM) Daddy?') He IS wondering how this thread managed to get past him - and now he's gonna do the thing where he blames his 'so called friends' over on the VM thread for not telling him (Platy, SamIam, ehab, Jerry, Silveragent. . .)

ETA - this is like having a sex dream and waking up to find out IT'S NO DREAM. Almost.
ETA II - I meant winning lottery in ETA I. Who am I kidding? No I didn't. But the lottery would be nice, too.

hey, i'm up for donations,
start a new thread,
open up a pay-pal account,
drop a button at c-c.com

who do we donate it to, she likes animals, so maybe the Humane Society
she was just at the St. Jude's benefit, so maybe there,
or do we just ask her where SHE wants it to go?

I think we should decide, because otherwise, presenting her with a check or an amount of money would put her on the spot. Does anyone know how to contact her management? That might be a way to go. But certainly anything to do with animals. *Slaps forehead - DUH! Gets a hunch about BIG PICTURE * Sure enough! LA Regional Food Bank! Thanks Penny!

Actually, we're talking about making a donation and giving her a certificate, but we could do the other if people are really up for it. ;)

That's what I meant, give her a certificate. What? Am I speaking in some new language? I know my job is driving me batty, but I think I'm getting the gist *mumbles to self, co-workers shrug.*

Looks at co-workers.
-What! That's why they put in in my own office!

Eek!! Charisma might appear on the best show on television. Whoo-hoo! She would be a perfect fit. This show has rapid-fire dialogue that requires perfect comic timing, which was something Allyson Hannigan couldn't quite master on her appearances. Also, all of the characters on this show, even the guest stars, are well-developed. It would really give Charisma a chance to shine.

Just as an update for those who might not venture into the Veronica Mars thread, Ask Ausiello posted a brief interview with Rob Thomas about next season on Veronica Mars. Potential casting spoiler below - it might be too much to hope for, but it sounds to me by RT's description of the character that he might have CC in mind for this particular part:

**Ausiello: Tell me a little bit more about the trophy-wife character.
Thomas: She'll be in her mid-twenties, a former Laker girl. Think Bonnie Bakley but with better looks.**

Think positive thoughts!!!
