View Full Version : Is Charisma annoying?

No, of course not. But some people think she is.
There is a website www.amiannoying.com whose only purpose is to rate if celebrities are annoying or not. Currently over 13,000 votes for Charisma with 44% thinking she is annoying.
I urge all Charisma fans to go over and vote not annoying as much as you can. You can vote multiple times a day.
No registration, no password. Just go to the website, find Charisma's entry and vote not annoying a lot.

Huh. Apparently Sarah Michelle Gellar is 0.44% more annoying than Charisma.
Who knew?

Oddly enough (if I read it correctly) he's more annoying than Paris Hilton. :scared:

Those are some pretty lame ass reasons they listed as to why she might be annoying. I don't find those qualities annoying at all.

ETA - This is also extremely, extremely stupid. This poll.
ETA II - Nicole, could you explain how Spike could beat up the bad guy in Cowboy Bebop Ep. 1? I'll take my answer off the air.

The site is tongue-in-cheek. It also lists Lucy Lawless as being annoying because she cried when she broke her pelvis on Jay Leno's show, and Papua New Guinea is annoying because it has poisonous birds.

Did you guys check out the Buffy section of the site, they list all the BTVS characters from least to most annoying.
James is ranked the least annoying (as well as one of the 100 least annoying celebrities).
Guess who's ranked most annoying BTVS character.
Signed, COB, The Anti-Duck

Theres been a blurb about this in CC's section at Slayerverse for about a month now. Out of 27 responses, only one person sees her as annoying. Surprised that there wasn't a post about it here earlier. Not pointing fingers, just contemplating irony.
On a related note, the historical figure from whom I borrowed my username is apparentely 57% annoying

Well, I was going to create a thread organizing a boycott of annoying people and places but righteous indignation is such hard work....
Why are people taking this site so seriously?
Abusing the color fonts because the board has lost it's sense of humor

I have officially had it with IAO.com
Apparently, some weasely little pr*ck invested in a web bot and is cheating by pushing Charisma's votes up into the stratosphere. At 11:45 AM, she was at 44.05%, less than ten minutes later, she was bumped up to 45.21%, which in her case would be between 400-500 votes in that amount of time, and one hour later it happened again, which is more than 40-50 votes a minute.
Someone tried a similar approach to bump Stone Cold Steve Austin's vote way down, and as a result, the voter was banned and Austin's page was disconnected from the site, so now noone can vote for him in any way.
What's the point of voting if some moron is gonna cheat to manipulate the votes?
I know I hate when people do that! Especially as the outcome of this poll is crucial to every important decision that ever needs to be made!
Abusing font colours IS fun...

Er, you've hit the nail on the head why internet voting is a waste of time and pointless. People always cheat, thus rendering any vote of any type totally useless.
People will still do it, but I think slowly the more sane are realising just how silly it is.
Of course I don't include polls such as ones that are put up on boards like ST from time to time, but the more public boards that anyone can visit and manipulate the voting.

Casey McCall does it to Dan Rydell (inflate his numbers in an internet poll) in an epsiode of 'Sports Night' that aired sometime before Y2K.

Yes. Rydell. Get the DVDs people. They're timeless. (BTW which Rebecca hair color did you prefer, red or blonde? And what's the deal with Teri Polo anyway? She looks younger now than in 2000. Was it the suits?)

I agree. The red said 'she's worth persuing.' The blonde said 'guest blonde of the week.' Anyway, my signature is a part of what in my opinion is the best Sorkin (he has 3rd writing credit - I'm betting it was for this contribution) 'walk and talk' of all time. It is timeless. (and I always resented 'West Wing' because it was the real reason SN got cancelled. Sorkin couldn't do both, no matter how many drugs he tried - and he tried many, writing SN on Tues/Thurs and WW on M/W/F. I think SHO or HBO wanted it at one point after ABC cancelled).
But back to the site. I think it's fielding, or some fellow traveller, and I think it's because of us. SOMEONE is trying to rile strangers.
Morrigan still hasn't told me how Spike beats up the guy on the mega speed on Cowboy Bepop #1.

Seconded. Not many things on TV were ever as good as Sports Night.

I prefer blonde. But I had a very scarring encounter with a redhead way back when, so I'm prejudiced.

Why Charisma may be annoying
She was named after a bottle of perfume.
Her favorite color is yellow.
She has a tribal sun tattooed on her back.
STUPID reasons! So what, her mum named her - she didn't choose it herself and it is a pretty name. And favorite color is yellow, what a stupid reason!
And what does this mean "Voting for Charisma Carpenter has been temporarily suspended due to Voting Abuse"?

And what does this mean "Voting for Charisma Carpenter has been temporarily suspended due to Voting Abuse"?
It means that some venomous pr*ck used a web bot or some other form of vote manipulation to raise Charisma from least annoying BTVS character to most annoying in one day. And until they can pinpoint and correct the problem, nobody can vote for her at all.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is another victim of this type of manipulation

ETA: What is confusing to me is the categories she's put in, among them "Chatty Cathies", "Horse Faces" (although, judging by that list, they don't know what having a horse face is), and "I Have Acne".

But I don't know where else to post it. I was talking to Micki, the New Jersey transplant who pulls the odd shift at my local pub. I mentioned that I knew some other people who had moved away from the Garden State and she really reminded me of Karen (Karkar). The subject of the board came up, and then she said that she liked BtVS and that she and Joss Whedon were graduates Wesleyan College. And then, out of the blue she said that she had a friend who knew Charisma Carpenter. This friend worked on Angel (no occupation specified) and the friend told her that Charisma was the nicest, kindest person - the crew favorite. This was cool because all I said is that this was a 'Buffy' board leaving out the whole 'Cordelia' slant, expecting the usual eye-roll when I talk to complete strangers (rather than the known stranger variety). Anyway, Micki went on to say that she used to hate Cordelia until her friend told her about how really NOT Cordelia Charisma was. Then she loved Cordy.
Annoying? I think not.

Really? Did she try to take off your fingers?
It's always nice to hear about people NOT acting like diva's and realizing that a character isn't an actor. They were saying similiar things re: the VH1 show, "Don't Fear the Reaper," where she specifically introduced her self to the other folks and made a point of learning their names.

Did you get a new car? Seems to me I read this somewheres.
New Car and new digs within a month of each other. Very inconveniant but I didn't have a choice on either. I got kicked out of my apartment when they decided to renovate the complex.
Then to kick it off, my car dies 3 days after I get the alternator fixed in the middle of Atl traffic. I luckily coasted into a haute hotel where the valets proceded to yell at me to move my car. To my eternal shame I yelled back for about 10 seconds before breaking down and crying like a girl. And yet it's so nice how men backpedal and bend over for a sobbing female.
Viva la difference!
