Uh oh, looks like Emma might have to add one more con to her list this year. I'm almost tempted to go, I've always wanted to go to London, this could be a good excuse. :)
ETA: How rude of me. Thanks for posting this information.

Thanks for letting us know. :)
I'm bummed that I can't go, what with the entire ocean and continent getting in the way. Maybe Emma will be able to go and tell us all about it. *hope hope*

Eeeee!!!!
I was already going because Grace Park was attending, but hell yeah!
I wonder if I can drag Nera along too?
Oh, and you have to come if you can, because I'm all for the spending of money if it means I can see my friends.

As above, yep, will totally be attending, it's only a train ride or two from me so it's on. I wonder though why she's chosen this event, perhaps she may be doing the con track this year? If so, I need to do a little digging...

Man, if I could get a cheap flight out to London for a week-end, I'd so be willing to go with you as well. :)

Summer Stranger_Con, London 2005. ;)
It's a shame this time of year is so expensive, still, it never hurts to look. ;)
Yes, I will be baggering anyone and everyone. lol

cheapest I can find is a $700 flight out on BA.
OK so if I hit it big in Vegas next month I can afford to go to London and see Amanda and Emma. If not they have to come to Vegas in Sept.

Ouch, expensive. I guess I really take my job for granted with regard to cheap flights!
Well, you know I'm there in Vegas come September, so I'll be seeing you one way or the other. :D

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! *Jumps up and down in excitement*
God, I'm such a fangirl.
That is all.
By some strange coincidence, I had plans to be in London that weekend with some fellow Strangers anyway, so hopefully I should be able to go as well.

oooOOOooo...
Tempting. SO tempting...
Thanks for the info Kika!
But - ! I live near London!
WOW!
In December 2003 Amber Benson was doing a load of stuff in England, some of it was in London... and she came to Swindon to do some signing at the IB store. They're quite good at getting guests in, I wonder if they'll be able to get CC...
Then I won't even have to get down to London which would be a problem since its my Dad's 50th that weekend... AND I'd have to work.
Lovin' Lorne

Shopping in London, partying in London and Charisma Carpenter in London. Looks like I'm planning a girls vacation this year.

Oh man, I have to go or I'll never forgive myself. But... but... June seems so far away...
Hey, we could devise a secret handshake or something. Or at least make little badges with our names on. Or, alternatively, I will be standing in the Charisma queue all by myself with a little badge with 'Mexi' written on it, talking to a handpuppet because no one else loves me.
Well, maybe Shannon and Bootsie do, but they are, like, miles away. Damn them.
Is it June yet?

No pressure of anything. lol
I'd be happy to get another CC pic though of course.
Now I'm just wondering where my copies of the ads are, as I'd like to get one of them signed.

I know that I still have both the Variety and the Hollywood Reporter issues that ran the two American ads - I'd be happy to "donate" them and mail them to someone in the UK to get signed by CC to "Stranger Things".

So you guys know, Travelocity (http://www.travelocity.com/) is having a big British Airways fare sale through April 14. Lots of punk-ass cheap roundtrips to London (we're talking $203 from New York and Newark, $343 from Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix). If you're ready to buy an airline ticket within the next two weeks, check 'em out.
I think you have to be a Travelocity member, but it's free to sign up. It definitely is an e-mail-only link, so if you don't get the BA e-mail, I'll forward you a copy and we'll see what happens.
This would have to happen the summer I'm following NIN around, wouldn't it? Let's see how far I can stretch to afford this....
Morrigan

Let me know about that e-mail when you get a chance. I pulled up the link but it still gave me $700 as the cheapest fare.

Question for those going. Will you be attending both days or just one?
I'm thinking of attending both days but am not sure at the moment. Thought I'd see what everyone elses plans are before I decide. Then of course I have to decide if I want to stay at a hotel, I still remember getting yanked up at the crack of dawn to travel to see CC the last time (also at EC). Now that I'd have to travel even further I'd be knackered by the time I got there. lol

*sighs* I have yet to convince my parents that 1 week of London with my friends won't kill me, or make me a dehydrated nymfo drug addict who sells her body for some powder and a bottle of scotch. Yup, it's going to be a long and bumpy road.
Just for the record, I'm not going to wear name-tags. Maybe I'll have a shirt with HM#1 printed on it, but that's it.

We were talking about just going on Saturday (Darla, Kika, Angelicgal82 & Me) but we haven't made final plans yet. After two near misses at the Starfury conventions, we are determined to track you down this year ;) Mwhaha!

Very true! I'm temped to go both days, if only because my BSG friends will be there too. But I'm not sure yet. If I get everything I want to done, I may be able to skip the second day, which would be great savings wise!

Maaaaaybe! ;) How much does it cost? And let me check and make sure I am not seeing any bands that weekend.
By the way, Platy, Penny and Morrigan, if you all make it to London, you are more than welcome to stay at my flat. I don't live in Central London, and the flat is quite crap, but it's free. But, like I said, crap. And small.

It's only about a fiver to get in, not much at all. They make all their dosh from charging for autographs (around £20 a pop).

Yes! We can just tell Paul to go somewhere. Or scare him.

That should be pretty easy if we all storm the place. LOL
The entry is great, but for me it's a tight month. I have a con May bank holiday, the next day I have collectormaina which will cost a bomb for me as I want to get all the BSG casts autographs, then I have London Expo two weeks later (though I don't tend to spend money there), and then I have this. LOL
Time to sell my soul perhaps? I might get a decent price for it on eBay...

Too corrupt. I'd pay 30p for it, maybe. ;)
See, £5 is good for me since I rarely spend money on that sort of merch. I'm too busy buying band merch, so I end up broke when it comes time for that sort of thing. Although, if I see something...

We were? LOL! I'm still fine with whatever the majority decides. I'd also be okay with going on both days actually... Not that I'm obsessed or anything. Or that CC might end up thinking that the four of us are obsessed. LOL!
God, I absolutely can't wait for this. It's gonna be awesome to finally get to meet some fellow Strangers. :)

does anyone know how it is arranged for guests to appear at these cons?
is there a blanket invitation going out to all the people in this genre, or does it only go out to certain individuals?
the reason i ask is because, on the same dates that CC will be here, a bunch of Angel people will be appearing at QUAR' TOTH at Heathrow, including Amy Acker, Andy Hallett, Vladimir Kulich, and Lauren Holloman and others. they are calling that an Angel event.
i'm just wondering what made CC choose to guest at the one she's appearing at instead of Quar' Toth with the other Angel people

I think someone mentioned that this is the same Con she did the last time so it could be familiarity.

Guests are invited if there is interest. If they're talked about on the ShowMasters board then they have more of a chance of getting asked.
As far as the Angel even goes, perhaps she didn't want to do guest talks or photos, she was uncomfortable to a degree with those things last time around. Signings are a lot easier. Plus, it'd probably cost Sean a lot of money to get her for the Starfury even. Most of the people going to QUAR' TOTH know Sean and his events, Charisma has never done one. I'd also guess perhaps maybe she likes LFACC because it'll be more general, where as everyone at the Thistle will be there because of Angel.
I think someone mentioned that this is the same Con she did the last time so it could be familiarity.
She hasn't done a Showmasters event before. The only other UK event she did was a Sector 13 one back in 2002. :)

well, all you lucky dogs going to see Charisma only have a short time to wait now.
i hope you have all your questions on flash cards, so you don't forget any of them.
i hope someone will ask her about 'Voodoo Moon', or 'Harvest Moon' or whatever they're calling it now, (still can't find anything else about it around here)
we will be waiting, expectantly, for reports from the con
please be good to us stuck at homes.

Still debating whether or not to go. If this awful hot weather cools down a bit I may wander along. London's not the place to be when its hot and humid.
But there are def. a number of interesting guests attending this con.
