View Full Version : Have you stemmed for CC today? (Vote for CC Part 3)

CC's currently 19,542
she's 2523 from Rika
she's 1458 from 21,000
she's 10,458 30,000
she's 10,785 from MK
I think all the stemmers for Rika are night people, cause they always seem to increase then. But I could be wrong.
Even so, CC's moving up, slowly, but shes' moving. :)

Gah! I forgot the daily totals update...so it will be a two-day total tonight...meanwhile I can't access the site, it appears to be down.

Charisma is now in 11th place. Emma Watson bumped her out of the top 10 and Rika seems to have gained something like 1000 points today.

ETA: EW now has a thousand point lead over CC.
Huh. I still can't access the site. Anyone else having troubles?

I'm having troubles too.
Also yesterday CC had an advantage of 900... All this problems to access, are they making going crazy the numbers? Because it's weir, not impossible but really weir.

I think someone must have hacked into the site. We've been voting in the poll for several months and I never had any problems until yesterday. Now there's no limit on the voting and there's a huge space at the top of the page so you have to scroll down to get to the poll.

It looks as if someone calling hi/rself "Stephen Minogue" -- the same one from the CC board? or just someone who's coopted the name? -- has added hi/r name to the voting list and hacked the interface so it will count each vote s/he casts for hi/rself as 50 or so. S/he's worked hi/r way up to #26 so far.

ehab;
don't forget to do your update tonight, we all know what happened, but i want to see THAT total in print, just to gloat for a while
tojoson, why wait?
I must be too old and lack the requisite sense of humor to appreciate this prank, as I find it neither funny nor clever. I find it especially sad that it may have been perpetrated by a CC fan. I would have been a great deal prouder to have CC at #10 honestly earned, than #4 by nefarious means. I was having fun on the trip up, and yuck yuck, someone happily stole the momentum out of our sails. That said it did serve a purpose, reminding me just how inane online polls truly are and more importantly, how easily electronic votes can be fixed (beware the Diebold vote.)
And so for what its worth, the stem-change from my last update:
Change from yesterday:
3. Namie Amuro, 73,742
4. Charisma Carpenter, 68,605 +49,168
5. Britney Spears, 65,817
6. Catherine Bell, 50,683
...
10. Rika Ishikawa, 24,008 +2,241
13. Justine Henin-Hardennes, 18,579 +37
15. Yulia Olegovna, 17,572 +44
Days left to stem in 2004: 16
Goal?
ETA: I'm not so cranky, I can't appreciate the thing of beauty that is CC's name sitting on top of Britney's.

12-15-2004, 01:39 PM
i don't think that Stephan was the one to instigate this, he just took advantage of it, like a lot of people did.
it was brought out over on C-C,com that Emma Watson came up almost 2000 votes, and MT came up a bunch too
anyway, it's of no consequence, i just checked and they have reset the scores to where they were before this happened
CC is now back in 10th place at 19,800, so lets continue stemmimg and try for 21,000
lets go people, fun's over

And you know what, I'm actually glad to see this. It's so much more fun to watch the slow and steady progress than to just overrun the system, even on another party's fix, and see how long it takes someone else to game it back (although, like E, I'm not so prissy that I didn't relish - relish -- seeing CC ahead of the voidoid Britney, even for a day).
Fewer than 200 votes to get to 20,000, gang. Do your part today!

10. Charisma Carpenter, 19,834 +397
11. Justine Henin-Hardennes, 18,585 +43
12. Sarah Brightman, 17,671

Yep.
This is ridiculous. What was once a silly, harmless little poll to show our support for our favorite celebrity became a battleground for fan groups. I think they're in the process of making changes to the system. There's a message up now stating you need to be logged in to vote, but the actual polls aren't up yet. The title also refers to the poll as Round One of Miss 2005 so my guess is that they're going to finish out 2004 with the results from before the system was hacked, since first place never changed. It might not be a bad idea to head over and register now so we can get an early start on Miss 2005.

they now have a list of the top 10 from 2004, (CC is 10th)
How does this election work? There are zo'n 400 candidates for this election genomineerd by the visitors of nationaleopinie.nl. these candidates have been divided concerning 32 poules. Every weak the visitors choose the two most beautiful women of the poule concerned by voting on them. After 32 weeks then still 64 candidates are. By means of knock-out a system every weak some candidates will slim until we at the end of the year the winner concerning to keep. As from February it is possible for new candidates at nomineren, these are possibly still added then to the poules. Go to the election
as i understand this, they will have 12-13 people up each week for 32 weeks, at which time, they will have 64 people remaining, then they will have 'knock-offs ???' for the next 22 weeks. and new candidates can be added after February
i registered, and if i go there and don't login, the stem box does not appear, so it appears that you must register to vote.
registration is almost the same as for this site

It looks as if they're going to a round-robin type set-up in which the top two vote-getters for each new bracket for 32 weeks will make the final 64, who will become the final poll for the last 20 weeks.
They've already set up each week's poll, although apparently you can't vote on any of them until the week itself. Has anyone clicked through all of them to see which week CC is in? I would imagine that as one of their 2004 top 10, she's already been included. I could be wrong.
ETA: Never mind -- found her myself. Charisma enters the poll in Week 10 (http://www.nationaleopinie.nl/polls/miss_poules.php?week=10) against the following ladies:
Beyoncé Knowles
Brandy
Chantal Janzen
Emily VanCamp
Heidi Range
Jenny McCarthy
María Jiménez
Mavie Hörbiger
Norah Jones
Pamela Anderson
Piret Jarvis
Sarah Connor
Shania Twain
Think we can come out at least in the #2 spot against this field? I think we can.

I'm glad you can navigate around that website Penny becuse i certainly can't.
I think CC is in with a good chance. I see the main competitors being Beyonce and perhaps Brandy but most certainly Beyonce.
But anyway in prepartion for week 10: ALL STEMS AHEAD!

i noticed they put one of the top 10 in each of the first 10 polls according to how they finished, so Gillian Anderson is in week 2, Britanny Spears is in week 4, Cathrine Bell is in week 5, and CC is in week 10
it looks like they are taking every 32nd person in last years poll
poll 1= 1, 33, 65, they skipped 97, then 129 and so on.
they put up a very nice picture of CC for her top ten photo
long, curly, dark hair
i noticed by browsing thru the forums, that people submit the eye-shots by posting them in the forum, someone who has the facility to creat these should submit one for CC,
they are 98 x 30 pixels in size

Oh, I think CC could take #1, especially if we really rally the troops for one week. That being said, she only needs to take second to move on to the finals, so that's good, too.
I noticed that too, Tojo -- fortunately I skipped ahead to Week 10, because on my dial-up connection I'm not sure I'd have had the patience to keep clicking through each week!

strange:
they finally got the MISTER 2004 top ten list up.
DB finished in 10th place, but they used a picture of David James Elliot in his box.
i guess they figured, same first name, close enough.
shadow, your name IS on the memberlist
click on the forums button, and try to log-in
I noticed the pic for David was wrong too, funny that.
But much more important, at least to LL and the other Johnny Depp fans, the first week is half-over (I think?) and he won't stay in the running if folks don't turn out to stem for him. It seems he has only four votes...
It occurs to me the 2004 highly rated (well really all the early week candidates) are disadvantaged by being in the first weeks, where their fans may not get to the site right away for stemming.

Question: Once you're logged in, how do you actually friggin' vote? By the time I log in at the forum and get back to the stemming page, I'm logged out again. Is there a secret Bat-link you have to click in order to get there?
tojoson
01-09-2005, 07:29 PM
if you use the back button to go back to the voting page after logging in, just hit 'reload' and the page will refresh,
if you go right to the forum page, then after you login, hit the
'verkiesengen' button at the top, this takes you to the poll selection page, select the miss 2005 poll and you will get to the page with last years top ten, on the left side at the bottom of the paragraph click 'Ga naar de verkiezing' and that will take you to the voting page-logged in
save that page address to your favorites, and don't log out, then when you click on that link, it will take you to the voting page and most of the time you will already be logged in

I didn't want to start a new thread for this because I suspect many of you couldn't give a rat's ass about anything Firefly related. However, I was honestly surprised to find CC doing really well in a little weekly poll over at the browncoats official site (http://browncoats.serenitymovie.com/serenity/). Not that I think she would go near this production with a ten-foot poll, but its nice to see her popularity is strong in this crowd.

interesting race this week, CB was way out in the lead almost all week, with RW in second, up until saturday afternoon, when TC started to gain, at the time CB was still way ahead, maybe 75 points, but all af a sudden she frose, and the race was on. RW and TC were within 2 pointas of being tied all day, and today, they were all 3 bouncing around the lead.
the thing is, look at the scores this week, more and more people are registering and voting, if they vote for CC, fine, but if they don't we are done at week 10.

Folks, Sarah Connor(?) and Shania are catching up fast, while CC's totals are stagnating. Please show that we're more than 15 people - register and vote. You can vote once a day. The clock resets around 6:30 PM EST.
I'd watch out for Sarah Connor. Yesterday she had 19 votes but now she's second with 54 votes. I admit, I voted for Shania too 'cause I just adore her.
CC is currently at 84 votes. If she continues to get around 20 votes a day, Sarah will tie her for 1st place by Friday, judging by her daily totals. So please keep voting! Oh, and I have 2 accounts there (again, I'm such a dork) so sometimes they allow me to vote twice a day. Hope that'll help somewhat.
