Hey hey hey, Nodakskip and Nishdog just posted and confirmed this over at C-C.com:
The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn May 6:
Actress Charisma Carpenter; Los Lobos perform.
That's at 1 a.m./midnight Central next Thursday -- which technically makes it early Friday, but you know how these late-night schedules run.
Set yer VCRs!
(Oooooh, and with Los Lobos yet. >>heart<<)
ETA: If you're joining us late, guess who else will be there?... Mary Tyler Moore. Yeah-huh. It's kismet, dude. I wait only for Craig to do a long-lost daughter bit.

Kilborn luurrrrrrves Charisma. I'm guessing there will be a lot of emphasis on her Playboy appearance.

Fucking awesome, she's gonna see Craiggers again! ;) I think he likes her a lot, although he did scold her for getting the audience rowdy during her last appearance. LOL Since Kilborn brought out Jamie Bergman's Playboy when she was on, I'm sure he's bringing out Charisma's too.
Now I'm hoping for some Conan, so he can catcall her.
Thanks for the heads up!

Catcall? You mean wolf-whistle? A catcall is a diss, and somehow I can't picture Conan dissing CC....

Actually, Conan kinda purrs at his lovely lady guests, and it's definitely not a diss. Plus, Charisma on Conan would be AWESOME. Oooh, that sounded dirty.

Wolf-whistle! Is that's what it's called? Conan usually makes cat noises at his female guests, so I thought it was a catcall.
Although, it could just be lustful gibberish.
Oh! And Craig's interview is also right before her appearance on The Division! She's gotta do Conan now!
ETA: Carolina got it- he PURRS!

Oh, you mean that rowwrrr noise he makes! "Catcall" kinda threw me, because that's definitely "a loud or raucous noise used to express disapproval" (as sez Webster's). But I know the rowwrrr noise. Yeah, that'd be amusing. :D

no but there is a wishful thinking font :). I'd love to see CC on The Daily Show and while I'm not a big fan of Craig Kilborn I'll be sure to tape the show or maybe even stay up late and watch it.

I actually did see Mean Girls, which was surprisingly entertaining and intelligent by the way, and CC is NOWHERE in it. I had noticed that the Kilborn website has this listed by her name as well, so I have no idea what's going on. It's probably just a typo.

It's usual that when a guide lists a late-night schedule for a certain day, they're actually referring to the programming day, not the chronological day. The "Thursday" Craig Kilborn show appears chronologically on Friday, but it's still part of Thursday's programming day.

Yeah that was confusing the hell out of me. Oh and when did TV Guide.com start requiring that you register before you can check out the TV listings? Cool Quentin and CC on the same show, sharing a Green Room and maybe even on a couch together (I don't watch the show I have no idea of the setup)?

Oh my God, I am SO hyped now!
ETA: On a related note, Quentin is in talks to direct the next Bond film with good ol' Pierce. He wanted Uma Thurman as the film's Bond girl, but hold on one minute- Uma doesn't want to be the good girl. She said that she'll only do it if she gets to kick Pierce's ass. But back to the current reality: CBS is the corporate big brother of UPN -- and while it's almost certainly premature and otherwise kinda out-there to make any inferences about whether CC's well-timed appearance on CBS late-night TV means the odds of Play Nice getting picked up for the fall just got better...still I wonder.

I hope to have vids from the show... my cable crapped out on me for the first 30 sec... but (and I'm gonna sound like a woman) I love her long hair... I still wished Craig put her first or have the interview longer...

I thought Charisma was wonderful tonight. Plus, she looked amazing (no shock there, the woman is incredibly beautiful). :)

I usually find Kilborn painful to watch but I enjoyed the entire show tonight. Charisma looked fabulous and I love her hair. I love that he brought up the MTM/CC comparison and he managed the Playboy part of the interview without acting like an overgrown frat boy. If CC's pilot gets picked up, I'd love to see MTM as her grandmother or great-aunt. I never noticed until tonight that they have very similar smiles. Now I want a CC video to the Mary Tyler Moore Show theme song.
(CK claimed to not have looked at the PB pictures and saved them until she was present)
Pfft! He SO totally looked at them before the interview...he marked the pages and everything! Although he did show the pictures...he's kinda nice about it. I loved the fact that he called Playboy "wholesome".
The interview is too short! I would've loved to hear more about The Division. I also liked how he assumed that "Play Nice" was a done deal. Let's all cross our fingers.
CC looked good. I just loved her hair! That dress was so short my mom and I were screaming "NO!!! Don't do it!" when Craig told her to twirl around. Luckily she didn't do it. I know this was mentioned before but that woman has great legs.

I stayed up to watch, but was too tired to take much in or comment. I did think she looked fabulous - her whole look last night reminded me of the way she looked in Heartthrob, except I would guess her hair is about 2 inches longer.
Gotta go with the crowd and say "Yikes!" to the woman's legs - she must have been working out something fierce this last year, because I don't think she's ever look so toned/cut. I thought the dress was cute, but not my personal style.
No one has mentioned this, so... She talked a bit about why she did the "Playboy" shoot and said it was very liberating at this time in her life to be able to challenge herself to do it, and that she was very comfortable with the shots and was comfortable while posing. She said she did it "now" as opposed to earlier in her career because she feels confident that she has enough television exposure behind her that it feels like it will be "Charisma doing Playboy", and not that Playboy would define her. She also mentioned that the timing is, in part, her way of letting everyone (I assume that means Hollywood?) know that "I'm back". Personally, I took that to mean that she felt she needed to combat an image of being pregnant and/or not in shape, but that could just be me. According to CC, she's been training hard since after the baby, and went on a strict diet about a month before the photos were shot.
That's all I can remember, as it was quite brief. She seemed happy though, and looked good. The bobble-head covering her butt shot was amusing.

I taped it and watched it this morning. I thought it was a very good interview, she actually had more time then I thought she would with MTM and QT on the same show.
Some very postitive comments from CK about "Play Nice" almost as if it was a done deal, I liked the way she pimped the pilot and let everyone know that they were hoping it would be picked up. Maybe that will get the pilot some attention? I know Christine Lahti was on Regis and Kelly last week pimping a pilot she shot.
Loved the direct MTM reference and the picture from Cordy with CC holding the hat on her head, that whole things screamed MTM.
Her legs were amazing, it's unbelievable how tone she's gotten. Wow! I liked the dress, it looked really cute on her and what little I saw of the back was very tight around her butt (no wonder she didn't want to spin). It's not something I could ever pull off but she looked fantastic in it.
Loved that CK pimped the Playboy shoot and asked her for her reasons and thoughts behind doing the shoot. I took her comments the same way Platy did so, just a big WORD to what's posted above.
I haven't watched CK since he left The Daily Show but I'm glad he's still doing the 5 questions :)

CC looked absolutely beautiful last night, as usual, lol. And I thought the interview was great! Just wish it had been longer. I was a bit apprehensive myself when CK announced he would look at the pictures in front of CC for the first time, but he handled it very well. Very respectful.

A few more small details:
Practically the first thing Craig said when she came out was "Mary Tyler Moore is here tonight," to which CC responded, "I know! I'm so excited!" It was pretty cute to watch her have a fangirl moment over MTM, especially when Craig slid right into the direct comparison (complete, as noted, with a still from the Cordy! faux-credits of CC "having a Mary Tyler Moore moment" -- Craig's own words).
As Platy has noted, the Playboy discussion was actually rather substantial. CC did confirm that she felt more comfortable posing for them than she had for many shoots that hadn't involved any nudity. Craig brought up the fact that they'd asked her to pose before, and she said that this time she took it in part as a challenge to "see how fast I could get it back." Craig's response was "It? You mean the killer body?" (CC: "Well, um...thank you!")
Craig also used the word "wholesome" more than once to describe Playboy or CC's appearance in it, which seemed kind of odd until he showed her photos on camera (he too zeroed in on the shot of her looking over her shoulder as a particular favorite). It was interesting that he chose to demonstrate, even indirectly, that with a couple of strategically placed fingers -- or in one case, a strategically placed Lakers bobblehead -- he could make all those photos fit for TV broadcast. He also described them as "tasteful" (as well as "beautiful" and "really well lit"). CC mentioned that Russell James, the photographer, had made his name doing the Victoria's Secret catalogs, so "he really knows his way around the female anatomy."
I thought it was funny that Craig mentioned CC's husband was at the Playboy shoot and asked "What did he say?" CC: "'Put your robe back on.'"
AtS was mentioned only once, when Craig ID'ed the Cordy! still (although one wonders to whom CC was referring when she confirmed that a "former boss" used to compare her to MTM). He went straight into the Play Nice discussion after that -- and as I've said, I'd like to think CC's appearance on a CBS talk show 10 days before CBS' corporate little brother makes a decision about her pilot is a good portent.

That sounds like a great chat, and it looks like the reason for doing Playboy was a good one, just like many people here guessed. I hope the interview does indeed bode well for her pilot, she seems eager to be back, and she deserves her own show so much.
Nw am just waiting to see caps etc.

I'm just glad I caught it! I'd totally forgotten that it was going to be on, but thankfully my little habit of checking out ST before going to bed fixed that.
I thought she looked wonderful. The dress wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but her hair was great and honestly, did she ever stop smiling? I'm surprised her face didn't split in two!
I'd never watched Kilborn before, and I much prefer him to Kimmel. He listened to what she had to say and asked a couple of good questions. I'm glad I saw it!

I have to say, Quentin did kill me with the (paraphrasing) "Why are you only showing my movie [when talking about violence-filtered DVDs]?!" and his "I mean, who's gonna fuck with someone in the supermarket with a DRAGON on the back of his robe?!"
Glad he dressed up for the show.
MTM was just charming, I love her.
Now, on to the lady herself. I thought Charisma looked gorgeous, although that dress was risky in more ways than one. Loved her hair and the natural look she had going on the make-up front.
What I noticed most about her was how confident she looked. She wasn't embarrassed over the PB pics, she talked openly about her body (even basking a bit in the lustful shouts of the men in the audience), and wore a dress that could've shown a lot had she moved her arm or legs a bit.
But she and Quentin didn't sit on the same stage.

I thought Charisma was wonderful tonight. Despite being put on the spot a little bit (CK claimed to not have looked at the PB pictures and saved them until she was present), she was very poised and a good sport about it. Plus, she looked amazing (no shock there, the woman is incredibly beautiful).
Hellz ya!!

You cannot believe how happy I was to see my girl on. I miss her. My dad being strict n all usually does NOT let me stay up late. I have to be in bed by 10:100 and I'm in freakin college for cryin out loud. But I said there's no way in hell I'm missing seeing ma gal on T.V. And so I stayed and watched.
The segment w/ QT was funny. I was exstatic when I saw that Quinten was there. I hadn't seen the credits. I wished so badly that Charisma would get a chance to meet him and tell him about her dream of kicking ass. I mean it Quinten for crying out loud.
So after QT left I was sad. But as soon as CC walked in my jaw literally dropped. she looked stunning!!
Too bad CC and QT weren't sitting side by side. Oh, Well maybe...

I cried on the inside too. I was like 'where did Quinten go?' Even CC asked where are the 'boys'? But I think Gab could be right. If so it could lead him to build up some few ideas for a movie involving Charisma. We hope! (Cross your fingers everyone!)

To add onto my begging, since it is beginning to look like clips and caps aren’t going to happen, is there any chance that someone who recorded it could make a copy and send it to me? I’d pay for the tape and postage and all that stuff.
If nothing else I’d like to write up the Transcript for CCO, and you never know, I might be able to get a decent cap card soon(ish), in which case I can make caps and stuff. *g*

Just wanted to chime in and say CC is just one stunning woman. And those legs! I want the name of her trainer.
Fantastic night though. CC, QT, MTM and a performance from Los Lobos of all things. What more could one ask for in a night?
I did really enjoy her interview, I just wish that CK hadn't of rushed the mention of her appearance on "The Division." People in the audience were clapping and I could hardly here him mention it. I doubt that people heard him say it.

I can make a dupe if no one has the ability to transfer their tapes to computer. Worse comes to worse I can take a pic with my digital camera :)
BTW - How does one hook a laptop up to a TV/VCR to record?

loved the interview, but too short, i wisj there had been more on play nice, miss match, and the division
loved the bare minimum of reference to ATS.
god, the woman has legs. as we used to say, 'she has clear legs, clear up to her butt'. i wonder if she still does rock climbing.
a couple of years ago i found a site that ranked people according to their body parts, (hair, eyes, face, shoulders, breasts, and so-on) charisma was far and away ranked as the best legs.
anxiously awaiting sunday, i think we may see something new for CC, a full-on drama. she has done some drama scenes on other shows, but i don't remember one that was ALL drama.

Espenson even said it in public -- sort of anyway. It was at the Bronze, the night "Rm w/a Vu" aired. Minear and Mere Smith also; that's why the credits for Cordy! had the homage in them.
Personally though, I like to think she was referring to Whedon. 'Oh, yeah, I fired the next Mary Tyler Moore, and I knew it when I did it too. I'm a genius like that.'

I really didn’t like that they introduced her as CC from the pages of Playboy. She’s got a guest shot coming up, a pilot, and her Ats role. Yes, he’s a horndog but come on.
I think he was a little more restrained now that she’s a milf. His tongue wasn’t hanging out as much. He was the same way with Jaime once she got married.
I thought he said that his favorite was the butt shot? You’d think she was Jlo the way people obsess over it.
CC was great, very warm and more comfortable than on some of the other shows. I liked her mischievous nature about the photo shoot, like she did it to tease her husband. There did seem to be a veiled reference to ME when she talked about being “back” after the baby.
And strangely, I think Tarantino would be intrigued by MTM. He’s the right age to remember Mary Richards and those capri pants. I could see him bringing her back a la Pam Grier just to see if he could.

Not if that's what she was there to promote. The interivew came off talking about many projects but I got the feeling that the purpose of her visit was to promote the magazine not "Play Nice" or "The Division".

Sorry, but she was Laura Petrie with the capri pants--I could just imagine the look on the censors' faces in 1961 when they first saw her in those tight pants...
Seriously, Mary doesn't really need to be brought back, she's pretty well secure in whatever project she wants to do. Although she had a recent dust up with Neal Simon, besides the new DVD show episode coming up on the 16th, she did "The Gin Game" with DVD to critical acclaim and has her work as chair of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of the green room when CC and MTM were together...hopefully the two women hit it off because MTM can do so much for CC's career with just a word or two...

As Morrigan said, her main purpose in coming on was primarily to promote her pictorial, although Craig did spend a fair amount of time on her pilot--anything else is gravy. I like the fact that AtS was hardly even mentioned--to me that's indicative of the fact that Charisma has moved on to bigger and better things.

I'm a little late to the party, but anyways...
-CC looked FABULOUS. I lurrrved her dress. It's a little bit different than the outfits we've seen her wear in the past, but I thought it was great. However, what was up with the greasepaint makeup they had on her? CC's gawgeous. She doesn't need it.
-Unlike most of you, I'm not a huge MTM fan. Therefore, the superlong interview with her really bugged. I kept saying to myself, "She's eating into CC's time!".
-Quentin was a riot. Hopefully he and CC had a nice long chat in the green room.
-Kilborn wasn't too much of an asshat tonite. It's amazing how much Jimmy Kimmel makes you appreciate people who aren't him.
-I kinda wished CC had talked more about the baby. Would of loved to hear some cute baby Donovan stories.

Yes I realize that she played two different characters but the point was that both were icons in their own ways in two different eras.
I think Kilborn has grown up some, he's not the same misogynist jerk who was nearly attacked by his own female writer back on the Daily Show. Plus, once you're a mom that seems to make a difference. Jenny McCarthy was on Howard Stern the other day and he didn't even try to feel up her breasts again.
I'm not sure MTM has been doing all that well lately. I'm guessing that she's still humiliated after being rudely dismissed by Neil Simon. Her repuation wasn't helped by the near charges of senility.
I think the Tarantino thing was good for him, I think he needs to be seen as the kind of guy who can make fun of himself. Now we just need to get Spike to do the same.
BTW, what's with her hair? It looked a great deal shorter than the PB shots. I guess they were extensions.

Actually, depending on whose account you read, she wasn't so much dismissed as she walked after he'd insulted her because she used a prompter. Essentially, the version I got (NY Times) was that Elaine Joyce, Neil Simon's wife, came to her and told her what Simon had said about her using a prompter and after that, Mary exploded and walked. As far as I'm concerned my respect for Simon went down when I heard about that incident--the man didn't even have the guts to confront Mary directly--he sends his wife to do his dirty work for him. As for near charges of senility--it's not at all unusual for actors far younger and less talented than her to use prompters for their lines. Mary's at the stage in her life and career where she doesn't have to worry about popularity or working--her place in entertainment history is assured--she doesn't need a Tarantino to "re-discover" her.

I remember that article and a few others. There had been some comments about his health limiting him. There was also an insinuation about her behavior offstage too, she had seemed overwhelmed.
I agree, a note from your wife probably wasn't the best way to approach it but I do wonder at her activity lately, she's been struggling with her own health problems in recent years.
I do think though that going a non-Mary Richards avenue would be a good thing for her. If she wants to rest on her laurels she's more than welcome but I don't think that she should feel that she's done. Every now and then she goes against her typecasting and it's been refreshing. Physically, she's not at Uma's level of strength but still, I'd like to see her in a gritter, nasty role as a heavy. I bet she could give Betty White a run for her money when it comes to her mouth.

Probably by Simon's constant rewriting of the script, right up until opening night. The most recent account says that's why MTM walked -- Simon was being an ass about finishing his own damn work.

I'm sure that he was being difficult, but isn't that sometimes typical for new plays? I know movies are often done that way and from I've read it's not uncommon for them to tweak scenes/lines even through already running productions.
That said, I still think she could do something besides Laurie Petrie between her charity work. Redford talked about the darkness in her and I'd like to see people in unexpected roles.
Heck, I didn't think I'd see Loretta Lynn do a record with Jack White but it seems to work. I'm not sure it's going to be a full Johnny Cash size revival but it sounds like the old hellcat Loretta.

Get thee hence and rent or buy the first season Mary Tyler Moore show dvds and/or the Dick Van Dyke show dvds...or watch those shows on TVLand...besides being one of the most beautiful women to ever grace a television screen, Mary is an excellent comic actress!
The comparison between Mary and Charisma is striking--especially when you get a look at the young Mary Tyler Moore playing Laura Petrie from the Dick Van Dyke show--Charisma so resembles her that you'd swear they're either sisters or mother and daughter!

I was gonna mention. I'm no big Ordinary People fan, whether the book or the movie, but MTM really deserved her Oscar as a woman so cut off from her own emotions that she'd cut her entire family out of her heart, too. What a great performance. It definitely would be interesting to see CC play someone that bottled up.
