To make it easier for people to interchange their ST and LJ/JournalFen icons, I've changed the allowable specs for ST avatars. The dimension spec has been raised from 72x72 pixels to 100x100 pixels. The size spec has been raised from 10KB to 12KB.
The antiviral measure of disallowing direct uploads from your computer desktop is still in effect. Please use a Web address to upload your avatar. Let me know if Web space is a problem, and I'll see what I can do.
Enjoy!

Oh thank you! Sometimes it's so hard resizing LJ avi's down to ST standards. Wheee! No more having to squish stuff down and making two of everything!!
Thanks.

Yay!
Although using my Wankalicious icon until I come up with something more appropriate seems almost scandalous!

Sorry to be such a moron when it comes to things technical... but how do I set my LJ avi up so I can use it here? I realise it needs to have a URL, but I'm not sure about how I set that up so it'll work here.
Thanks!!

I guess I first need to know how you placed your LJ icons. If you have them saved in Web space, just use the URL at which they're stored in the Custom Avatar box. If you uploaded it directly from your desktop, it's not stored in Web space. Let me know which and we'll continue.

Hi Penny,
I have the icon on my desktop at the moment, not stored in web space. I do have a website (a geocities free one) but don't know how to get an icon on there in a format that I can then use for the avi here. Just let me know what I gotta do. I'm a fast learner!
Thanks for your help:)

I don't think GeoCities will work because of all the restrictions they have on offsite linking; you'll probably just get a blank box where your icon should be. Do you have any other Web space? If not, maybe I could host it for you.

No, sadly, no other Web space.
I would so appreciate if you could host a couple of avi's for me. What do I need to do? Do you require remuneration of some kind?
Thanks!!

Thank you!!
I'll just doctor them a little, then send them through. I have to relinquish the computer to my hubby now, but should have them done by tomorrow.
